MBM Tubes manufactures and stocks Stainless Steel 904L Welded Pipes, built for sour, chloride-rich and acidic process environments. Custom dimensions and shapes are shipped on request. Also known as UNS N08904 pipes, these pipes meet national and international raw material standards. SS 904L ERW Pipes resist pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride exposure, weld cleanly without cracking and form into tight bends without splitting. Stress corrosion cracking resistance holds up under sustained tensile load in chemical processing and marine applications. As a trusted Stainless Steel Welded Pipes supplier, MBM Tubes keeps standard sizes ready for immediate dispatch.
SS 904L ERW Pipes are easy to install and remove, and can be accessible for our esteemed clients in dissimilar technical specifications of threading and sizes.

ASTM B673 Stainless Steel 904L Welded Pipes Packing
SS 904L Welded Pipes deliver high-alloy austenitic performance where chloride attack destroys standard stainless grades. Stainless Steel 904L welded pipes are used in chemical processing plants for sulfuric and phosphoric acid lines, as well as in petrochemical plants for sour gas and high-temperature processing lines. These DIN 1.4539 tubes and pipes are used in ocean water handling systems, heat exchangers and condensers, which are constantly in contact with seawater and saline water. The pharmaceutical industry has designated 904L for use in sterile process piping and power generation facilities have specified it for use in flue gas desulfurization circuits. Pitting and crevice corrosion resistance keep wall thickness intact over decades, extending service life well beyond standard 316L installations.
High purity 904L coil is checked for chemical content prior to being slit to width for manufacturing. The strip is rolled to form tubes and the seam is welded with controlled heat input in the form of rolls. The carbide precipitates are dissolved by solution annealing at 1100-1150°C and the chromium oxide layer is restored by pickling and passivation. At this point, the alloy grade is confirmed by PMI testing. Each pipe is then subjected to hydrostatic testing, flattening and flaring testing, eddy current testing and surface defect visual inspection. All pipe is verified for weld integrity, wall thickness and dimensional tolerances before being dispatched and is tested to ASTM and ASME standards.
What are Stainless Steel 904L Welded Pipes?
High-alloy austenitic pipes with 4.5% molybdenum and 1.5% copper, fusion-welded for chemical, petrochemical and marine piping systems.
Why are DIN 1.4539 Tubes preferred for corrosive environments?
High molybdenum and copper content resists pitting in chloride-rich acids, outperforming standard 316L grades in sulfuric and phosphoric service.
What sizes are available in Stainless Steel 904L Welded Pipes?
MBM Tubes stocks ½" to 24" OD, with custom dimensions available on request for specific project requirements.
Are Stainless Steel 904L Welded Pipes suitable for marine applications?
Yes. Seawater handling systems, offshore platforms and desalination units use 904L for sustained chloride exposure resistance.
What are the benefits of using UNS N08904 Pipes?
Superior crevice corrosion resistance, strong weldability and stress corrosion cracking resistance extend service life in harsh process environments.
Why choose MBM Tubes for Stainless Steel 904L Welded Pipes?
MBM Tubes stocks tested, certified pipes with PMI verification, ready for immediate dispatch on bulk orders.
